Coqui Coqui Coba, Mexico is a dream come true. The ambience. The design. The service. The food. Staying here at this luxurious sanctuary was a complete delight.
Travelling the world searching for the ultimate hotels gives us plenty of great experiences. But it also increases our demands, and standards are elevated. Coqui Coqui Coba fulfilled them all.
There are only five suites at this small boutique hotel. I tracked Coqui Coqui on Instagram for a couple of years, admiring their captures, but arriving here actually exceeded my expectations. The rooms were larger, the beds softer and the architecture and décor even more picturesque. The smell and nature surrounding this unique building created the perfect surroundings for a reality escape
Being a family of four, we booked the luxurious Jungle Villa. It had two floors and three bathrooms and sleeps four. The suite also has a large bathtub upstairs next to two hammocks, and a semi-outdoor shower and tub. All clean and stunning. The best part was still the private outdoor area with a pool filled with clear water from the natural cenotes (natural sinkholes). Nothing beats the feeling of laying on the soft sun-beds for hours, looking at the scenery while soaking up the sun and sipping something refreshing. Complete serenity.
The kitchen served fresh and beautiful, ecological food, and after a few days, they added alternative dishes to the menu for us, so that we could keep on tasting various and wonderful, local ingredients. Our favorite was the Ceviche. We enjoyed it daily.
I also recommend a visit to their SPA-area. Strong and caring hands adds to the total Zen feeling of this luxury retreat.
Where and whatSituated at the very tip of the Yucatan jungle in Mexico, effects both its climate and wildlife. We saw toads large as fits, a couple of snakes and crocodiles in the nearby surroundings. Never felt scared or threatened, just mesmerized and captivated by the exciting and unique environment we got to experience. Visiting the close by Mayan ruins and several breathtaking cenotes completed our experience here at Coqui Coqui Coba. We will never forget it.
