If you are going to Folegandros and want to stay in an exceptional Design Hotel by a decent beach, Blue Sand Suites on Agkali Bay is where to go. It is just a few steps away from a beach and close to a couple of others, good breakfast, breathtaking view and gorgeous, white and peaceful rooms.  

I loved staying at the Blue Sand Suites. The location is a bit odd. Climbing on a small hill above the beach, and no pool, but the rest is bliss. The reception is one of the most harmonious I have ever seen. It is all white, clean, calming and delightful. I was almost sad that I didn´t just hang out here a bit more. But with the spectacular view from the lounge/breakfast/bar area on the outside, there was just not enough time.

I also love the rooms. We were lucky and got the biggest one with the best view. It has a small balcony where we could enjoy our afternoon coffee or drink, read or listen to all the happy voices of summer and vacation. The main room was large and pure white. No disturbing elements of color, just beautiful designer lamps, a comfortable bed and two sofa beds for the girls. The bathroom wasn´t super big, but lovely anyway. And all the hotels that offer toiletries from Korres get extra points from me!

It is a small hotel, on a small island. But even if a few minor issues came up, the staff was so professional and so helpful, that it just made you love them even more.

  The beach isn´t perfect. But the water is. And the hotel will lend you some small chairs, in addition to towels, so our favorite thing to do was to climb over the hill and down to the next bay (a 15 minute walk). This beach is very small, covered with round rocks instead of sand, which I think is super. And the water… so blue, so clear and just perfect! As so many in Greece, it is a nudist beach. But there aren´t too many visitors to this beach anyway, so it is free for everyone. Perhaps you´ll enjoy taking of your swimsuit too. When in Rome, you know! Just remember to bring enough water and some snacks, because there is nothing there but water, rocks and peace.

There are a handful of good places to eat lunch around the hotel (they have no restaurant of their own), and it is just a few minutes away from Chora, which is definitely my favorite village in Greece to eat, chill and just enjoy.

  If you are not dependent on a pool, but looking for beauty, peace and ease, Blue Sand Suites is definitely the place to stay.
