The 101 Hotel in Reykjavik has a central location, great view, contemporary design and comfort, and a lounge and bar area which is good for both “chillin” and mingling.
The 101 Hotel is located almost in the middle of the town, which is great for those of us who loves to stay where things are happening. And if you are lucky, you get a view towards Mount Esja and Harpa, Reykjavisk conference- and cultural center, which has a delightful color spectacle going on.

The rooms are open and minimalistic styled in black and white. The shower is wonderful and some of the rooms also have a freestanding tub. The beds are of very high quality with the softest beddings I have ever experienced in a hotel. Worth a visit on its own.
The bar area, which is also where breakfast is served (if you would like to pay the extra fee) is also very stylish. But we actually preferred to enjoy our drinks in the cozy lounge, which has huge leather sofas and chairs positioned around an open fireplace. THE place to hang after a great day of experiences, and both before and after a good meal.

The hotel even has a tiny SPA area with a fairly equipted gym, a steam bath and Jacuzzi. This completes my list of things needed when visiting Reykjavik.
