Il Santo Bevitore in Florence has it all; great wine, excellent food and a good atmosphere!
Just a few steps away from Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and Dior, you´ll find another great restaurant in Florence or Firenze. Il Santo Bevitore has a big and welcoming room filled with food loving guests and a busy staff.
They have a fine wine list with good prices. As shown on their walls, you can find wine from several parts of Italy and even a few French bottles, but it would just feel wrong not to pick a Tuscan bottle when you are in the hood. We tried a new producer and had (yet another) great wine experience here. It was a Chianti Classico Riserva from Monte Maggio from the wonderful year in Tuscany, 2007. This Chianti is lighter than a lot of the other Riservas and very elegant. A new favorite, and for just €32. A great buy.
Their Tuscan plate of meat and cheese was wonderful, and their pici pasta with ragú was great, but the two most memorable dishes were the burrata (a softer version of the buffalo mozzarella) with shredded cauliflower and their spaghetti with tomato sauce. The latter so good that I ordered a second round of it. Both me and the girls loved it!
